Name the assembly
Record whether the screen sits in a sliding door, hinged door, porch panel or another enclosure. Take one photo of the whole assembly and another of the proposed area, from each side. Include visible maker labels when present. Record what you can see without removing covers or disturbing the mesh. If the frame profile or material is uncertain, label it unknown.
Resolve the support question
Hale’s screen range includes distinct corner, cut and universal configurations. Its product page describes different relationships between the pet-door frame, existing screen frame and mesh. Those options are a reason to ask the supplier which assembly matches your photos; they are not permission to improvise a support method. Keep the supplier’s written answer with the exact model name.
Walk through everyday operation
Describe how the screen and any adjacent solid or sliding door are used together. Note handles, tracks, other panels and the path the pet would take on both sides. Ask how the selected model would affect normal screen operation and how access would be controlled when the household is away. These are planning questions, not a claim that a screen provides a security or pool barrier.
Put the decision in writing
Before ordering, collect the confirmed model, the required frame information, the installation instructions and who is responsible for installation. Ask which measurements the supplier needs and what is returnable if a custom configuration is ordered incorrectly. Compare the complete scope, including any required support components and screen repair, rather than the pet-door item alone.
